Project
New Starters IT Startup Manual
Business need
Deutsche Bank had a large number of new starters globally each week but its IT departments were struggling to cope with the ‘onboarding’ process of a new starter in person.
My Role
My task was to create an easy to use step-by-step process for new starters that took approx. 1.5 hours to complete. I created an interface that turned their usual setup process on its head and looked at it purely through the eyes of the user.
I was responsible for the following:
-
Identifying all the needs of a new starter and grouping them into easily digestible sections that made sense to a new starter
-
Writing copy for each step in the setting up of email, software installs, server connections, printers etc.
-
Creating connections to a pre-existing Deutsche Bank community
-
Designing an interface that put the user in control and had a feel good element to it and sense of achievement at each stage
-
Designed in such a way that the user could stop for a coffee in the process; any questions that they might have could be answered by a new colleague sitting close by, which in turn promoted communication within the team.
